Private Coaching: Keeping Your Purpose Alive

Actor-Actress

Every time you feel disappointed, discouraged, and disillusioned, you should know that is the beginning of a destructive process where you hold back from continuing to pursue your dream to be a successful working actor. Too many rejections, too many losses, too many failed auditions can make you want to quit. It’s perfectly understandable. But behind every desire to stop, is a failed purpose–your purpose to act, to be creative, and to be recognized for your wonderful talent.

So how do you remedy this?  Reignite your purpose and the feeling of being stuck in your career will go. Write out what your purpose is for you personally. “I want to perform, entertain, enlighten, make people laugh, move people emotionally” are examples of what your purpose to act might be.  Re-connect with that purpose; redirect your energy to fulfilling that dream, that goal, that purpose to create an amazing career.

If you’ve not been in class recently, then get back in class.  If you feel you need some one on one time, then get private coaching to revitalize or debug some area of your work.  If you need to improve your audition technique, then get to it.  Put all of your energy on getting your career on track and you’ll make it happen.  But know that you have to rekindle your purpose to get things moving in the right direction.  Giving up is not the solution.  Keep your purpose alive and pour the energy on that and see what happens!
